NAPOLEON HILL HAS A NEW PUBLISHER |
Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, the classic
bestseller of over 60 million copies, will now be published by Highroads
Media, Inc. |
A new publishing and production company, Highroads Media, Inc., has been launched for the express purpose of publishing books and audiobooks, producing radio, television, and video programming, and exploiting other intellectual properties based on the works of Napoleon Hill. |
STILL ONE OF THE WORLD’S BEST-SELLING AUTHORS |
It is said that Napoleon Hill has made more millionaires and inspired
more successes than any other person in history. And he’s still doing it
today. In fact, if sales figures for backlist titles were included in
calculating bestseller lists, sales of books and audiobooks by Napoleon
Hill would outstrip most of the new motivational bestsellers. Beyond his
extraordinary book sales, Hill’s influence is clearly seen in the work
of today’s biggest motivational superstars, including Steven Covey and
Anthony Robbins, both of whom credit Napoleon Hill as being their
seminal influence and inspiration.

75th ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF HIS FIRST BESTSELLER |
In 1928 Napoleon Hill stunned America when he published The Law of Success. It was an instant bestseller—unlike anything anyone had ever read before. Aimed at the average person, it offered the collective wisdom of America’s most successful business leaders and promised readers that if they followed the step-by-step advice they too would achieve success. And they did. By the hundreds, then the thousand, and finally by the millions. |
Nine years later, Think and Grow Rich proved to be an even bigger bestseller. Until his death in 1970, Hill continued to lecture widely, produce radio and television programs, and to write more bestsellers including How to Raise Your Own Salary, How to Sell Your Way Through Life, and Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude, which he co-wrote with W. Clement Stone, world-renowned philanthropist and chairman of the multibillion-dollar Aon Corporation. |
AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR TODAY |
Napoleon Hill was always most successful during times of economic uncertainty, and Highroads is mounting an aggressive campaign to make people aware of how relevant Hill’s books are today. Highroads is publishing newly revised and updated, quality-bound, gilt-edged collector’s editions of both The Law of Success and Think and Grow Rich, as well as fourteen audiobooks based on the work of Napoleon Hill. All are either available now or will be by this September. |

WHO IS BEHIND HIGHROADS? |
Bill Hartley, Jeff Baker, Rick Guthy, Bill Guthy, and Greg Renker are the principals of Highroads, and all share a personal knowledge of the power of the Napoleon Hill philosophy of achievement and success. |
Bill Hartley, president and publisher of Highroads Media, was the first publisher of audiobooks by Napoleon Hill. In 1987, when Hartley was starting his first publishing company, Audio Renaissance, he met with the president of CPU, a company in the business of duplicating audiotapes. In that meeting he learned that CPU held the audio rights to Napoleon Hill’s motivational classic, Think and Grow Rich. A deal was struck on the spot. It was the first title Renaissance published and it became the cornerstone of one of the most successful independent audio publishers. Seventeen years later, Think and Grow Rich is still one of the best-selling audiobooks ever published. |
Jeff Baker and Rick Guthy were respectively CEO and COO of CPU as they guided it from a medium-size audio duplicator to one of America’s most successful manufacturer-marketers of audio and video products. In 1991, Baker and Guthy proposed that CPU acquire Audio Renaissance. They offered Hartley the opportunity to continue to grow the audio publishing program, and they were instrumental in the company’s expansion into book publishing. Working together, the team published more than 750 audiobooks and 125 books, never losing sight of their original inspiration. They continued to add to the list of Napoleon Hill books and audiobooks, and the titles stand out as unique: they all became bestsellers, all are still in print, and they are among the most successful in the entire publishing program. |
Bill Guthy is best known as cofounder with Greg Renker of the premiere television marketing company, Guthy-Renker Corporation, but he was also the founder of CPU. It was with Bill Guthy that Hartley had the meeting that resulted in the first audiobook edition of Think and Grow Rich. At that time Guthy and Renker had just gotten together and came up with the idea of making a half-hour television commercial to sell Napoleon Hill audiotapes. Of course, now everyone is familiar with infomercials, but at that time the concept was almost unheard of. Today Guthy-Renker is widely heralded for its brilliant marketing of Anthony Robbins, Victoria Principal’s cosmetics, and Proactiv skincare products, but their first infomercial was for Think and Grow Rich. It was the success of that infomercial that launched GRC and revolutionized television marketing. |
In 2001, when Audio Renaissance was approached by multinational media corporation Holtzbrinck Publishers LLC, the principals of Renaissance agreed to sell the company. But they retained the rights to all of the Napoleon Hill material, and it is from that basis that Highroads Media has been launched. |
Over the next months Highroads will be announcing a number of new Napoleon Hill ventures, including television and radio programming, infomercials, videos, and, naturally, we will also be announcing new books and audiobooks. In everything we do, Napoleon Hill's name will be the focus, and every venture will be announced and publicized with all the attention due a bestselling author and one of the most influential names in American business. |
